Tokina 50 to 135mm f/2.8: Any feedback on this?

hello guys,

Is/Has anyone in here used/using/thinking of using the above named glass?

if so, what do you think about it?

coz im planning of getting 1 to complement my efs 17-55 for my 500d.

Pic quality for this lens is good. Build quality is also quite solid but its considered a little on the heavy side due to the F2.8. Its internal focusing so the lens dun extend out even when u change the focal length.

Down sides are, the focusing is slow as it is using old focusing technology. There is a built in Lens Mounting Ring that you cannot remove I think. That can be a slight hindrance when you are using the lens. I just shift it to an angle that does not hindle my hand.
Not much shops in Singapore carry this lens anymore so it pretty hard to find. I had to mail order in from US.
