i don't understand, when we go on a holiday, we just pay to play in the theme parks
when you finally have one in your own back yard, we complain that it is too expansive
...

I think we tend to be a little myopic when we are overseas.
Many would just say: "Heck, since we've paid so much to come so far, what is another few hundred? If go back then regret never play, it will be too bad lah!"
So one becomes a little numb on the wallet part.
.. at home, ahem... a little different because we tend to have a mentality that things at home should be cheap(er?).

Just wondering when will they release the sales of Annual Passport... Don't mind buying if its $200+.. can go enjoy the rides as and when i am free...

Yes, I forgot about that. So silly of me.
Then maybe I should add in another one adult and another one teenager to complete the family...:bsmilie:
Sad to say most family packages consists of 2 adults and 2 children in sg, to which a teenager is considered an adult.

true... either cheaper if not concession for citizens/PR

Now, compare with the SG Flyer, this is dirty cheap.

SG Flyer - just a little thrill of going high up to see the skyline, or sunset or whatever for a short 30min or so.

US - so much fun for the entire day. I feel that it is very worth it.

And there would be discounts for DBS card, for SAFRA members etc and then, even vouchers for KFC, Starbucks etc. And of course, terms and conditions applies.....

i've read in the online Straits Times that there were some people suggesting to have special prices just for Singaporeans. i was thinking... WTF???

is it a practise elsewhere that theme parks offer special prices for locals?

I don't remember about Universal in Orlando but SeaWorld/Busch Gardens has special passes just for locals. You pay about the same as a regular admission and you get a pass that works on days which are not special holidays.

If they add that,it will be so amazing! Can you imagine going so near to another moving roller coster

I've ridden both the Dueling Dragons and Incredible Hulk coasters in Orlando and they were both quite amazing. Looping down toward the ground or water always is exciting.

It's a practice here in the US to have special prices for locals living around the area.
Plus, there are annual passes, which I don't see the Uni Studio in SG having...

people living around the area could mean just orlando, there are other 48 states of population in the US and including tourist. This won't work for singapore unless you wanna charge normal prices for ppl living in Pulau Ubin:bsmilie:

Do you know the size of Orlando? Singapore is so hot and sticky. Imagine getting on a ride that has perspiration on them.. Erks!!

i'm not talking about size.I'm talking about the country's population.Orlando may have 5million people, but the rest of the population of the US!They are the ones that are charged at normal rate

Then you are talking about what?

Orlando is so hot and sticky, in July and August. Every day, it rains about 4 in the afternoon. There are about 1.4 million people in the area, but the deals are generally for people in the whole state, although I would get a free day pass each year. Currently, there are two Universal parks in Florida and another on the west coast in California.

Having cheaper rates for people living in singapore isnt going to work, there is no one to charge extra except for the tourist. While in the USA,you can charge all the people living in Orlando a cheaper rate, but you can still charge people that live in the rest of Florida the other 48 states in the country and tourist. This is where this marketing will work in big countries not small countries like Sg.
Anyway, orlando is a warm place too.If you know who is Ellen Degeneres, she is a talkshow host and she does her show once every year in universal orlando, she sprayed water at the audiences to keep them cool

Only people in that State (and even differentiated according to the north/south) gets the discount. Of course, not all States are gonna get the discount.

The price was reasonable if the rides they offer are as good as those overseas, considering that there are 24 rides and is unlimited rides it will give uncle Ringo A run for its money. Remember going to uncle Ringo park at Hougang, The price of the rides that lasted <10mins cost about 10 dollar per person/ per rides.

Not too sure. I thought all this theme park are built to bring in tourist... We do have a high traffic of tourists passerby Singapore... Hell, we have a few million foreign talent.

I have no idea who Ellen Degeneres is. :embrass:

On the contrary, Singaporean has to pay to get into casino. :bsmilie:

Sg do bring in loads of tourist but they will earn lest from the local compared to the locals of US

With the hot weather almost all year long, can't imagine the minors queuing under the hot sun for hours long, surely our clinics business will boomz.

the average temp in orlando during the middle of the year is 30++ degree celsius, but it still flocks thousands of crowd
If the quality is good, people will still go,just like the SIN
