Hi all,
Just wondering on this issue..

currently i have a 20d paired with a 17-40L

what other lenses suitable for this part of photography..

i do know that 70-200 f2.8 or f4 is a so called "industry standard" among many photographers...but damn expensive uh...

how about primelenses?wat is a preferred focal length for cropped bodies?85mm?135mm?50mm?

i was thinking of getting a 2nd hand 40d/50d as a main camera and my 20d will be a back up so as to minimize lens changing on 1 body.,.

well, indivdual photographers has their own style of shooting lor.

for me I would go with 17-40 F4 + 85 F1.8 cos budget mah...:)

Seems like 17-55 f/2.8 IS and a 70-200/2.8 or /4 IS or the 85/1.8 (or 1.2L if you can afford it =p) prime if you find the 70-200 zooms too heavy/expensive would be good choices.

Go with what you might possibly shoot @ wedding. Altho there's a so-called standard set of setup for wedding photography but it really depends on your style and perspective. Always consider:

1) how wide do you need
2) how much telephoto would u need and how far
3) what are the focal range considered sweet spot for your shooting style?

That pretty much help you figure what lenses you need. If you can't afford Pro lenses, you can always rent or get a substitute lens for the focal length.
