any lens can be use for portrait shoot. even u got a 600mm lens also can, just that u got to stand very far only.. lol... just a joke with u...

18-200 and 35 is fine for the shoot, don't worried about the lens u using.. u got to worry about the skill and composition during the shoot.. enjoy shooting...
