Anyone know what is a good macro lens for Canon body? And what filter to use?

get the Tamron 180mm, a standard piece of tool for butterflies. :thumbsup:

Just sharing some recent discovery...
I own a 90mm Tamron MF lens, and a 2x TC. I cannot use this 90mm Macro lens with the 2xTC , the body keeps giving me the err message and refuse to shoot. After some searching in the internet, I realised that there is a AF pin on the body that controls it. After mounting the 2xTC onto the body, you press the lens release button and twist the lens back a little bit. This will de-activate the AF switch... and... YiHa... I can now use my 90mm MF macro lens with 2xTC to achieve 180mm macro liao

I think only a couple well-publicised choices : Tamron 90mm, Canon 100mm etc..

Most (if not all) gives u a 1:1 magnification... Tamron 90mm is noted as the TACT Sharpest.. but very noisey. Dun expect to shoot with AF with macro and its fine. Have tried 25mm tube with Raynox 250... and wallah.. very very close and tripod encouraged. Bro, i can pass u the Tamron for awhile if u are interested.
