hope to get some advice from experts here..

planning to get one of those, most prob second hand ones..

kinda undecided which one to get..

my constraints are as follows:
1. budget: 17-35 is cheaper
2. 50mm: i already have a 50mm 1.8, if i get the 17-50, will it overlap?

both also widest aperture at 2.8 right?

also, are they full frame lens? (not very sure the exact term, but ie to say, are the lens usable on film bodies as well?)

tia!

Think the Tamron 17-35 is not a constant 2.8, at 35mm, think max f4.

the 17-50 is a aps-c size lens,
not for full frame.

yes the 17-35 is great if you are planning to shoot film or get a d3(which i recon you would prefere the nikon equivalent).

i got myself the nikon 18-35 just a couple days ago and i had the tamron 17-35 a while back. frankly, get the nikon 18-35mm even if it costs a bit more and has a smaller aperture. because its darn sharp and focuses with ease. it was a great joy shooting a wedding with it over the weekend.
