My uncle brought his DSLR setup yesterday, and I almost got the shock of my life when I saw his new Vanguard pistol-grip ballhead mounted on the QR plate of his pan-tilt tripod (kinda like the freebie Nikon one)...
Apparently the booth that he purchased from (at whatever exhibition) told him there are no such tripods where there is just a screw on the top of the mounting base.... :bigeyes:

DD & ZCA - what is news to me is that DD is getting into macro (or has he been more than a fan?).. Interesting..
DD - wonder why not do away with the ball-head.. or still need the flexibility?... Guess we will have a LEW/ZCA filter system and DD tripod head-mounting system in no time
