This is the image I took, and was told there is no focus. Okay, so since my focus is to show the sheer crowd, where am I supposed to focus on?

how bout going higher and further and showing even more people like ants, with lots of depth, disappearing into your picture? That could focus on the sheer crowd.......

:dunno:

focus at the cone shape lampost

then set f8

If you want the crowd to be in general focus, then just use a smaller aperature (bigger aperature number f11 etc) That would give you a deeper depth of view and the crowd will be more in focused.

Dun focus at the cone & recompose... U'll underexpose your pic. Sky too bright already.

Best is use higher F-number, F11 quite ok. Then focus at the nearest person, in this case, the lady in lime green. Coz OOF background is better than OOF foreground. details lost at the back not so bad.

use a wider lens

stand closer
take away the top half of the pic

dont mind i do some cropping and curves to your pic.
