The Singapore School of Photography (SSoP) will offer a range of photography Courses conducted principally by Singapore's top practicing professionals.
SSOP is a legal entity duly registered the (ACRA)Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority.
SSOP's mission is to impart knowledge and experience of professional photography accrued painstakingly by a selection of the "cream of the crop" practicing professional photographers to all interested parties; whether an absolute beginner, an occasional shooter, a dedicated hobbyist, or even a budding/aspiring professional.
A wide-ranging selection of courses will be progressively introduced in our offerings to cover diverse sub-disciplines; from Commercial, Advertising, Industrial, Editorial, Wedding, Architectural, Corporate Event, Aerial, Travel,Photo-journalism, Fashion, Underwater and beyond...
Among our expanding tutorial pool of practicing professional photographers are established luminaries such as the highly-respected Sebastian Tan of Shooting Gallery, the creative & innovative Charlie Lim of Charlie Lim Photography, Wedding photo doyen Tan Eng Howe of Montage Studios, the high-flyer Tommy Chia of Studio 8, celebrity photographer Russell Wong; who will impart their decades of polished skill and specialized erudition in their classes.
For a start, our courses will be structured for 4 two-and-a-half hour sessions over a 2-week period.
In collaboration with ClubSNAP, SSOP will be conducting an inaugural Elementary Photography course in August 2008.
These first two courses will be conducted by Albert Chua of twentyfourseven pictures and Alphonso Chan of Shoot0nTheFly photography.
Photo Journalism courses will start on August , 2008 by Alphonso Chan of ShootOnTheFly Photography.
Beside photography courses, SSoP also provides rental of studio with equipment in our 1200 square feet.

Elementary Photography Course - Commences 5th August 2008
Photographer who will be sharing his knowledge: Albert Chua of twentyfourseven pictures
Costs: $238/-, to be paid in full before course commencement

Attendees will be guided over the first two indoor sessions on how the practicing professional does his work.
The 3rd indoor session will touch on post-shoot digital processing and an insight on physical output of the images which will cover printing via various digital methods such as water-based/solvent/UV inkjets and photo silver-halide process.

*Understanding Aperture
*Understanding Shutter Speed
*Practical usage of Aperture & Shutter speed
Session THREE - 10 August 2008 (7.30pm to 10pm)
*Refresher on Aperture & Shutter speed
*Digital workflow pertaining downloading of images taken
*Understanding the various types of digital output machines on various substrates and working with various types of digital on-demand printers.
At the end of the course, attendees will be given a copy of A2 size print of their Selection.
