Split image focusing screen

I'm looking for a split prism to aid in focusing with manual lens on Nikon d300. Saw a couple of brands in ebay.
1. Any concerns using branded and brandless split prism?
2. Is diy installation easy to do for the inexperienced?
3. Where can i get a split prism at reasonable price in shops here? Any recommendations of brands and shops?

I'm using Focusing Screen for my D300, it mod from original Nikon split image focusing screen, very good.
