I guess I should explain the rationale for a small shoulder bag. I need it to fit into a hand carry luggage on budget airlines, so I prefer it to be as small as possible.

Well for the ng, it has a handle on to top. Go daiso n get a $2 strap and strap on the top handle since u r using a small tripod.

Passport Sling? Recently hook up one cheap at $35 in BNS section. :)

How would you attach a tripod?

There is a expandable slot for the bag. I'm not sure how small your tripod is but it could fit my gorilla pod. :)

My vote would be Think Tank Urban Disguise + Think Tank Attachment Straps. I'm pretty certain the Urban Disguise 40 fits the straps, not so sure about the Urban Disguise 35 though (my personal fav).

The advantage of a small mirrorless system means that you can basically just buy a small camera insert, and fit that to any small bags.
I got myself a small Puleme (Korean brand) camera insert for less than $20, and have been using it for a small mirrorless and 3 lenses. It goes very well with any small messenger bag. If you need to bring along a tripod, then you can use the same camera insert and slot it into a backpack rather than a messenger bag.
