So anyone got the good deal?

-----------------------------------------------

Net boo-boo to cost SingTel $200,000
SINGAPORE -- Christmas came early for more than 300 SingTel customers who stumbled onto a fantastic deal which will have them paying next to nothing for brand new Nokia 6610 mobile telephones.

A webpage which should have still been under construction went live, allowing surfers to make reservations for Nokia's latest offering for just $60 for a one-year subscription and free for a two-year plan.

The correct price should be $728 and $668 respectively.

More than 300 customers placed their orders and SingTel, which is Singapore's largest mobile phone provider with over 1.5 million subscribers, said it would honour the deals.

'For customers who submitted their reservations for the mobile phone and who received an e-mail reply that their reservations were received, SingTel will entertain the reservations based on the prices indicated on the webpage,' said its spokesman.

'SingTel is committed to delivering on its promise.'

It may be the festive season, but the mistake will cost SingTel about $200,000.

Yepp !

I was 'notified' by a friend about this price mistake and I grabbed the opportunity and pre-ordered it.

Well... that was when I didn't know the existence of Clubsnap...

Now I know where to spread the good news ... if something like this ever happens again

i got a free N200 from M1 last time too :D

and i also ordered two Dell laptops at $150+ and $300+

but then Dell did not honour the price in the end...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..........
Another good deal lost.

I was sad about not getting the $199 scanner... and now this.
Darn, I should visit the forums more often...

But seriously, what is $200,000 to a telco?
I bet that their marketing campaigns cost more than that....

This is so old.
2 weeks ago liao. :p

Actually, what happened was someone bookmarked the page for 6610 while it was on preview or something. Then, one day, that person discovered this wonderful price, and the order system works.

Spread like wildfire, initial source = HWZ Mobile Comms C.
The link could not be found anywhere on the singtelshop webby... ;p
