Oh, don't mind the horrible ISO1600 noise...

don't see the point in this shot. please explain?
Hard to explain abstracts... but here I go: I was drawn to the near-vertical line patterns as I focused closer to the wordings.

I tink you went too "close" and "side" that the pic lost it's significance to the title.

DOF also too much for this case.

Actually, that was the intention. To go in close and towards the sides so that "Singapura" gets obscured but not so much that it can't be figured out from the lines that form its letters.
In fact, I kind of hesitated to even reveal that it is spelt out as "Singapura" on the title of this thread... dang, I gave away the catch!

For this kind of shot.. you need to be aware of perspective, the cropping of letters really just makes them looks like only lines.

Understand you idea, you juz need to try out more different perspectives.

Maybe next time I'll bring a tripod there and use my 300mm (equivalent) telephoto lens to compress all the letters together into focus. I like those lines to be sharp. I am not satisfied with the sides being OOF, but since it was candid and not serious when I took it.. well :dunno:

Just looking at the picture itself, I would thut of it's similar to a "focusing test". :)
