sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II adive needed..

i'm looking into sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II, so that i can shoot in tele and macro... so how good is this lens?

compare to tamron AF70-300MM F/4-5.6 LD Macro ? :dunno:

I have the older SIgma model. It's a good lens. At f8 it does well. At 300mm it can be a pain in macro mode, but the newer models work differently there.

Came with a nice lens hood. One time I bumped the lens hood and the pressed in front element came out............

Pressed it back in and no more problems....i careful now.
