this is interesting angle :)
nice take. I like this

Thanks Lydia.

Do you know who is my subject?

The boy in green at the end of the line.
He is the one who was crying crying crying all the way.
I have got him in several of my photos - all the other children are laughing but only he is crying... spoilt my pictures! Haha...
Am I right, Nokkieg?

Cont'l from my previous althought is on page 7, hope is not too late.

Aiyoh... pai seh lah. Kam Sia Kam Sia!

wah lau...coming from the guru, damn humbled by your thumbsup:)
No no, I dare not acknowledge that address, johnwmlee.
Certainly not me. I am but a student learning to play with colours still.

How many times did this poor guy have to cast his net?
Haha... enough times to give him tennis elbows and sore wrists for the next one week....
Excuse fishing for 7 days he gets, after kena tekan-ed by SgTrekkers... Hahaha...

Dinner at Golden Prawn.

So.... an intensive and eye-opening (but exciting) day full of walking deserves an equally intensive dinner... ;)
More record shots.

Yupe.
No question about it.
I am sure those who are familiar with Batam will know that many Singaporeans and visitors to Batam will end up having seafood at Golden Prawn.
Adrian was saying:
"Eh, please... (if) not enough food please let me know. I will order some more for you all.
Keke.... well, now we know he is the regular, from the way he devours the Flower Crabs...
But we were all too nice to arm-twist he and Melvin to order more. But I say it here now on this thread. So next time SgTrekker will Automatic a bit more and order more (no need to ask... HAHAHA...) for their well-deserving members, including Birds Nest also... OK? KEKEKEKE...!

This Adrian huh... the whole dinner he had that silly smile on his face.
And when asked, he replied:
'How often do I have the chance to sit down here and enjoy the moment?"
Well, indeed he was right. The moment that he was talking about was a very oldish 70-ish, kind of atmosphere where we all sit down around this round table eating sea food and listening to an Indonesian-Chinese man in his 60's spewing out Hokkien songs, including Mrs Reservoir88's favourite 我问天, at the top of his lungs. How often do we have the opportunity to do just that? Not to mention the big big coconut that we ordered to drink?

268087_241744949169232_100000011850955_1053066_323635_n.jpg

Well, yupe. Many of us just swallowed the coconuts whole.
This is the ONLY Food Photography that I took for the night cos my hands are all oily with crabs and prawns.
Some of the more discerning ones even got themselves a few bowls of the famous Birds Nests ala Golden Prawn... Kekeke...

And here, a record shot of the well-fed members, several of which were waiting eagerly for Part II for the night... Massage?

259960_241745122502548_100000011850955_1053070_1491582_n.jpg

... Too full to move already?
Or conserving energy for the Healthy Massage that is to come...?
... more record shots.

263082_241745012502559_100000011850955_1053068_2774360_n.jpg

Looks like all too tired to move any parts of their muscles liao...

268993_241745075835886_100000011850955_1053069_2237346_n.jpg

And here, SereneXMM very tickled by that Hokkien-song singing old man on stage bellowing at the top of his voice.
We couldn't even hear ourselves talking. I was trying to communicate with Adrian with hand signs but he couldn't understand any of it... he was too busy eating his Flower Crab...

264484_241745199169207_100000011850955_1053071_692073_n.jpg

Now these two smart men knew what was the best way to enjoy a relaxing coconut drink... look for a clean table and sit down! Hahaha...

this is my IR picture , taken when our minibus drove up the slope up on a hill en route to Tanjong Uma

The End of the Day.... Almost...

Aaaaaaahhhh... back to the hotel...
Well, for several of us, this was the beginning of one of the best parts - the 150,000 rp, one and a half hour Full Body Indonesian massage.
For several of us, this signifies dumping all the camera equipment in the room and going for a nice classic Batam shopping spree at Nagoya Hill shopping centre about 5 minutes away.
Yet, for some, it just means a nice warm shower and sleep.

Wah lau eh... this means what? Wake up at 3:30am?
My goodness.

thank you Wee How for the excellent write up and record shots.. hope to see many of you again in the next trip..

Day 2: Early early morning Sunrise shoot at Barellang Bridge.

This second day saw us rising very early to gather at the hotel lobby at 4:15am to move out at 4:30am for the 30 minutes minibus ride to the southern end of Batam.
Our subject? The beautiful Barellang Bridge.
This Barellang is a composite of the names Batam, Rempang and Galang which are three different islands.
In fact, there are 6 bridges altogether connecting 7 islands.
Here is our location on this morning.

Some Record shots...

It was around 4:50am when we arrived in the dark, and started our walk (also in the dark) down a slope towards the seaside.

And Adrian, GekS and Lydialee having fun getting the best angle for the rising sun.
It is not so common to get egg yoke sun at sunrise... but luck was on our side on this day.

Of course Nleong give this sunrise his best shot!

The Barellang Bridge at Sunrise... one of the Highlights of this trip!

Some of us in the team said: "If I just change the colour of this bridge to red, I would've been in San Francisco!"
So true. So true.
Here, I changed the colours with my 535nm IR.
Nokkieg going at the bridge from low down...

... Ending of the Trip...

It was still early when we arrived back at the hotel after the sunrise shoot.
And while a couple of our members went off for their second round of massage, the rest of us did our best to gobble up what was left of breakfast at the hotel lobby.
And after a nice 3 hours more of rest (sleep for some), we took the Batamfast ferry back home.

We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
Despite the tiring walk, the early morning... I believe all of us went home well rewarded in terms of photographic opportunities and pictures.
Well done, SgTrekker!
Let's all look forward to more trips in the future!
