Hi everyone

Just realised that the camera body serial number is just a sticker pasted at the bottom of the camera.

If the camera is lost *touch wood*..then the seller can just peel off the sticker with the serial number.

I'm thinking of engraving the number on the body itself.

Anyone has this thought as well?

Anthony

Same thing with the KM lenses - looks like printed labels glued on.
The G lenses however, have their serial # nicely engraved on the barrel.
At the rate the technology is evolving, the 7D is likely to be obsoleted before the serial # label falls off :bsmilie:

That depends on the age of the lens -- all my lenses (spare the 500/8) have engraved serial numbers, which should tell you something about the age of my lenses!!! :bsmilie:

That is true, but sad... or the unit will fail :(
