sounds so interesting.. i was hoping for someone to give a live tutorial on wet cleaning.. any chance?

Like I told Tay... Just dirty up your handphone screen or ipod what ever small plastic or glass surface that is really small. Then just try it out. I am not imposing my method as being "the" way to do it or safely. It works for me and I am well aware of what can happen if I screw it up. You just have to find your way like I did. Trying it out on some other similar surface will give you a good benchmark as to whether you are doing it right or not when you examine youre finish work.

Bought the sensor swab & eclipse...v xxx leh.Ok then follow the instruction to clean it.
Result worse leh :sweat: . I use up to 4 swab liao still cant get rid of the stain/partical.
Not easy leh.Any alternative choice for the swab?

The first time I clean needed 9 wipes, as the wiping action dislodged more dust.

Subsequent cleaning is about 2 to 8 wipes each anyway.

Sensor swab quite expensive, right? I use Pecpads on a plastic cake knife.

You can trust the manufacturer's label, or you can trust the hundreds of Pecpad users. I personally know of 3, and I have yet to know of any incident of glass scratching.

But there has been plenty of warning on the use of lousy alcohol, the 3M Magic tape and the compressed air blower methods.

Sometimes, it depends on the camera, too. The S2pro that I use has LOTS of room around the sensor, since it is actually a modified film cam. The 1Ds is practically fitted so tight that you can reach the dust at the corners or the edge, and you can't sweep the dust off the edge.

If you go to the link I provided earlier in this thread, you'll see that pec pads is the recommended one for cleaning.

Cathay sells them IIRC. Pecpads are lint free wipes that are generally used with eclipse fluid to clean your sensor. You just need a custom plastic swab so that you can fold the pec pad on one end to clean the sensor. Refer to the Copperhill method:

The solution costs around $16-18 dollars and the pecpads around the same price for a big packet. The solution also comes with 10 pieces or something the last time I checked.

I think its bundled by default, you might want to check though.
