here's why :

Many broadband users might have found that their Internet connections ground to a crawl on Wednesday evening in Singapore.

This was because one of SingTel's submarine cables was faulty and this affected broadband links to the US.

SingTel has a broadband customer base of over 80,000 customers with an estimated market share of over 70 per cent of new subscribers since the start of the year.

A spokeswoman said the firm was investigating what had gone wrong.
