Nikon was among the photo industry heavyweights offered Photoshop by Thomas and John Knoll in 1988; Nikon declined, and the brothers ultimately struck a licensing deal with Adobe later that year. This is among the interesting tidbits of information published this week in a NikonWeb article on the early days of electronic photography at Nikon. Written by Alan Bartlett, a key figure in Nikon's fledgling electronic imaging division in Europe in the 1990s, it describes the company's scanner/transmitter devices, still video cameras and the E2/E2S, Nikon's first digital SLR.
