Next month, Nikon will ship updated versions of its 300mm f/2.8 and 2x teleconverters. The AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II features Nikon's four-stop image stabilization (the previous lens had a three-stop rating) and incorporates an additional focus mode - A/M - which reduces the chance of switching from AF to manual focus when touching the focus ring accidentally. The TC-20E III 2x teleconverter is the world's first, says a Nikon press release, to utilize an aspherical element for improved optical performance.
