As of this writing, Canon in Australia, Korea and Japan have all posted official information on the "black dots" problem impacting the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Two of the three service notices posted by these sales companies indicate that Canon is developing a firmware update to address the problem, as well as an instance of vertical banding that can occur when the camera is set to sRAW1.
