Yes, there appears to be.

I may be wrong, but don't think any consumer digital camera can take care of such a wide range in full-blast (What you see in the open sky) sunlight. ;)

heck.. even large format have problems keeping up with such ranges :bsmilie: :bheart:

more pics !!

DM you are too generous and too big hearted ........ did the walk WITHOUT a camera having passed his LX5 review cam to another participant to try !

Locate price ??

I'm still waiting for info on Canon G12.... but the LX5 had somewhat won me over with its color and bright lens

Manufacturer's recommended retail price is $799, so should expect that to go lower at street.

Interesting set of features on the manuals, but unfortunately, only a quick guide was included in the box, and no comprehensive manual. I'm not sure if one is included in the box, but I would suspect this might be crucial to new users of the LX5 (as opposed to previous users of the LX3 who might be very familiar with the functions). The Quick Guide, however, is adequate to get you started. ;)

Aiyoh Ed, I actually felt naked without a camera :embrass: but it's more important to let the others try the cameras.

Is it just me or what? i find the color not natural... noise control not good.... i wanted to get LX5 but looking at the photos now, i'll re-consider again...

All photos have been resized by photoshop and uploaded to filckr, unless otherwise stated.

Not sure which photos you're referring to as some were shot from ISO80/100 up to 12800. :dunno:

Color perception can be very, very individual BTW.

CHEERS!

not worry, thanks for having the pre-review before the actual,

it does feel like the ilford delta 3200
the starburst effect rendered is quite nice.

Is it possible to compare side by side with the Lx3... ;p Sorie for the trouble...

personally like the colours.
flare is well controlled too.
thanks for the review.

You have convinced me. I think I will get the LX5.

Come on, have you seen the dynamic range of the large sensors lately. I don't dare look for long, because I will feel I need to upgrade.

Yes, you are correct, it's just you :)

Thanks for sharing! Sadly I don't think I will be able to get one before my upcoming trip... but looks good still. :)

Hi, I enjoy the colours & sharpness of the pictures, though I miss depth of field and perspectives in these pictures.

definitely looks good, and i thought how could they better LX3!
