Managed to squeeze off some shots out in the field, before and after the morning rain on last Friday.

Equipment used:
E5 + Sigma 150mm macro lens
STF-22 TTL Twin Flash
Tripod

The bigger and better resolution LCD screen really helps a lot (especially in my macro works), in assessing my images after taking the shots.

All images below was out-of-camera JEPGs at factory default settings.
No post processing, only re-sized.

Some ISO comparison.
I glued the ISO to 400 with the E3 but I think I can switch to ISO1600 anytime if I necessary with the new body.

All taken at f8, speed @ 3.2sec, 1.6sec, 1/1.3sec, 1/2.5sec, 1/4sec & 1/8sec respectively

I have yet to explore the video capabilities (totally a newbie with video) of the E5.
This body should be able to serve me well for the next fews years.

Cheers...

More than decent detail at 1600.

Thanks for posting Alan - now if Oly would put the 100mm macro back on track!

Yuki, you're actually praising a Sigma?? :bsmilie:

There are three Sigma lenses that come to mind that I admire: 105mm macro, 150mm macro, and Bigma 50-500mm.

I imagine there would be more, but I've not seen good examples of the work yet, the 18-50mm f/2.8 being one of those.

Usually, I consider Sigma lenses to be good enough for great 35mm film and similarly-sized digital sensors, but for cheap film or APS-C-sized sensors and below, they're normally crap.

Agreed, but is that a tick on the stick insect? the frog actually hang on while you shot from 100 to 6400? The 6400 is still as impressive as the pre production set, nicely done NatureTTL!

Thanks for posting. The sharpness, the resolution and the details on the frogs eyes are just astounding....

Great froggie pics and amazing detail!

I like the way the E5 controls the frog. Almost no noise at ISO 1600, frog does not move during the shoot. ;):bsmilie:
