Regarding macro converter

Hi all, I have some doubts regarding the macro converter.

1. Can macro converter be used with those non-prime lens? like using kit lens of 18-55mm?

2. Does the camera have the capability of using any matrix metering with the macro convertor?

2. Regarding this, I found out that there will not be metering using those convertor like N-AI lens. Is it true?
