Recommendations for digital cameras

Shall we have a thread recommending our personal "best buys" for different budgets? I'll start with mine for < $1000 cameras....

$500 to $650
Fujifilm 2800 - good 6x zoom and great colors
Canon A20 - sharp and easy to use
Casio QV 2400UX - one of the few cameras in this price range with almost full manual control

$650 to $900
Casio QV2900UX - great 8x zoom with lots of manual features
Olympus C2040 - fast F1.8 lens, great for available light phototaking, sharp and offers many manual control

$900 to $1000
Olympus C2100UZ - 10x optical zoom with image stabilisation! lots of manual controls
Olympus C700UZ - if size and weight are major concerns

For me, it's the usual suspects.. Nikon 995, 5000, Canon G2, S40, Oly 4040. Of late I've been quite impressed by the Minolta Dimage 7, pity the battery life isn't good.

For the tiny cameras, I like Canon's IXUS V, Oly's C40Z, Pentax's Optio 330 and 430.

if you take a look at the 2100uz or oly thread, a few got it for $950
