Check out a Cullman? The Magic ones, foldable and very compact. See if it's stable enough for you.

The Gitzos are around there, but unfortunately cost too much. :(

There is on rugged built from Manfrotto
small enough to put into your vest pocket
and tuck away into a corner of your camera bag.

The No Centre Column Tripod Table Top
(Manfrotto Art 209) weighting a mere 2 kg
with a height of 13cm. Don't go away travelling
without it when you want to travel as light as
you can.

A small tripod should be rugged
enough to handle some of the
equipment that you are using.
It should be small enough for
you to bring it along anywhere
you go. :)

This table top seems to be attractive.

You may want to check out Ultrapod II..
It's back in stock @ CP
$33...

erm... if this table-top tripod weighs 2kg, its probably one of the heaviest around!... think it can take a load of 2kg but the weight of the tripod itself is abt 200g I think... :)
