Cons digger.
I'm sure someone works in this industry.

I want to make some (about 16 in 4X4 fashion) rounded square holes( around 4mm x 5mm) onto a copper/aluminium piece less than a cm thick. the holes have to be accurate that's why I need CNC.

Anyone knows where to make? And rough cost? thanks in advanced.

May I know what kind of accuracy you are looking @?

Typically, conventional milling m/c can do the job for +/-0.1mm no problem.

I assume the corners are rounded, so what is the radius?

Am I right to say the end product is a copper / alu block is of 4"(L) x 4" (W) x 1cm (thick) with a square hole (with 4 x rounded corners) in the middle?

What grade of copper / alu you are looking for?

How many pcs are we talking?

yups.. something like what you've describe..accuracy to .1mm is good enough. but the holes aren't exactly sqaure. and there are 16 holes in 4x4 arrangement

It's for a personal project so I need only 1 (most likely) or at the most 5 pieces(not very likely)

quality of copper/au.. ermm.. really not much idea but I don't need good quality materials :D

So in that case you dont need CNC milling.

So whats the size?

I think I miss understood your requirement.

So you need a copper / alu plate of 1cm thick, m/c a series of square holes with rounded corners in a 4x4 matrix formation.

However, you have not specify

1) length & width of the plate
2) length & width of the square hole
3) radius of the corner for the square hole
4) position of the matrix with respect to the edges of the plate
5) the intend of use (so we can advice on the mat'l grade & thickness)

:D okie.. i'm actually not in this industry so I might not know the techie stuff.. ok let me try to answer the qns..

1) length & width of the plate
not important. handheld; rough estimate would be around 100 X 100 (mm)?

2) length & width of the square hole
about 4 x 5mm

3) radius of the corner for the square hole
not yet finalised but I have PMed you the rough sketch of the pattern.

4) position of the matrix with respect to the edges of the plate
parallel to the edges evenly distributed

5) the intend of use (so we can advice on the mat'l grade & thickness)
pattern making in various materials ranging from clay to plastic resins.

:D

2) length & width of the square hole
about 4 x 5mm

ha ha ha, brother, 4x5 not square lar. its rectangle.
