How do you guys ensure the batteries are not oxidised at the electrical contacts?

If slightly oxidised already (tarnished, dull layer on contact) how do you guys remove the oxidation?

you can always use fine sand paper (emery cloth)

As long as there's contact, it doesn't. If not, like my F80, it will refuse to sync with the flash and you end up with slides wasted. For the batteries, you won't get any power

you can try using alcohol.

why not try to use brasso.
It will be good to polish metal piece but I don't know whether can be used
or not ? :think:

A little brasso goes a long way...

Anyway, metal polish will leave a light protective film and will help stop oxidation for quite a long time..

oxide layer acts like an insulator.
you can use an eraser to 'clean' the contacts. however, this works for minor cases only.
