How does one use a rangefinder? anyone out there with experience and should a neophyte such as my self is it a good idea to use it? Opinions thoughts and views. Thank you.

Take off lens cap, adjust aperture and shutter, focus by lining up the images within the viewfinder, final composition, depress shutter.
In theory, rangefinders should let you use a slower shutter speed as there is no mirror slap. In terms of size, generally smaller as well, again due to the lack of a prism and mirror box.
