Im not sure how to phrase my question, but i shall try, hope someone can answer me..

1) Roughly what is the size of a DSL lenses needed(example: 24, 28, 50, 55 or 70mm) to produce the same size of a object which is seen using naked eye?

2) Is the specs of a compact camera (example Ixus 860IS 3.8x zoom 28mm-105mm) will have the same focus size of a object as a DSL lens (28mm-105mm)?

*(Note: DSL is 450D or 40D, not full frame camera).

Most people say is standard lens...50mm?

First of all, it's called a DSLR ;)

1) 50mm is considered to be the lens that reproduces what you see, on a full frame camera. On a crop framed camera like the 450D, a 35mm lens will give you a similar view. 35 X 1.6 is roughly equal to 50.

2) yes, it will give you a similar view.

Tks for all replies... I appreciate it... :)
