Would like to know how they perform up against each other

for example, i read
the sb800+4aa battery recharge is 4s
the sb800+quantum 2x2 recharge is 1s

how about
Quantum Battery 1 Compact
Quantum Battery 2
Quantum QPAQ
Turbo Battery
Turbo 2x2
Turbo AC
Turbo Compact
Turbo Slim Compact

how do they differ? in the recharge timing for sb800? or the number of shots it can fire?

those with quantum,
please advice!

many thanks in advance.

oh! also.... anybody can advice on the product price range?:)

how long is battery life span blah blah blah:)

will my sb800 burn? blow? melt?

t-h-a-n-k-s

Own experience, SB800 (on 5 batts) with Quantum 2x2, the refresh rate at full power is approximately 2-2.5sec. (+/- 0.2sec)

Full charge last approximately 600-800 at 3/4 power (on SB800). More if used with lower power setting and over a period of a few events.

As for burning/melting/exploding/flying, it depends on how fast u want to push SB800. The 2x2 will allow u to burst like 20-30 shots at one go at most power settings, so it's up to you whether u want to melt ur flash. :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Rule of thumb, bust 3-5 shots, rest for 10-20sec or thereabouts.

As for performance rating, some of the models listed does not support SB800, but among all, 2x2 is the most powerful and higher capacity.

The problem is that sometimes you don't have time to wait for 10 seconds before shooting off your next burst of shots.

I guess at the end of the day, you would just have to take the risk and just fire away; making sure that the flash doesn't blow.

only know 1 person getting, dunno who gotten...

btw, u buy for wat? u do freelance wedding now?

no
but i hate taking 3 photos

and the 3rd photo looks like me doing bracketing hahahahaha

thanks you AJ23 & agape01:)

really afraid to pay $1000+ to burn my $600+ flash... hehehe a bit silly right? is there a guide from quantum teaching us how to effective use the 2x2 with sb800? and will nikon service centre service my camera if it is under warranty?

so bro, if i burst at full, can achieve 20-30 shots or not?

or only at full i have to wait for it to recharge 2.5 sec?

thanks thanks

dont worry our KO did it before with his old d2hs.
hi longkangman! who is KO??:)
the only worry i have is nnot enough power, slow recharge time and blowing my flash...

how huh?:) please advise thanks

Full power burst of 20-30 shots? You flash will blow b4 u reach that, also, u wont get full power as it still takes at least 2sec to fully recharge for full power.

you mean to say SD8A is as good as quantum 2x2?

:bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

I think DCA meant that if one dun need the speed and power of the 2x2, SD8a is just as good for a fraction of a price. SD8a can NEVER be as good as 2x2. :sweatsm:

But for ultimate performance/speed/power/etc, Quantum 2x2 is probably the best choice for SB800. Any better would probably be QFlash+2x2 (from Quantum), continuous lights or portable strobes.

yes, you can do that, with a few SB800.

i even thot of 2x sb800 alternate bursting

both mounted on some adapter

got or not?

getting too ambitious

hahaha

what kind of shoot are you shooting, izit a paid shoot?

nope, look at my history, you will know i am a newbie. i started dslr for a few months only

[i am seriously not paid]

i just want like to shoot friends and churches events

and i really find it very sian cos my third pic will look like i did bracketing

i have been reading and i worry about spoiling my sb800

oh.... ask ipin... he met me a few times... :) hahaha

ever occur that u could use a torch light instead? :bsmilie:

a 250 watts video lighting... with the battery pack!! hahahaha

abit too yellow

looks like all my pictures are sun setting
