Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film and Media Studies is inviting all secondary and tertiary students to participate in our Singapore Youth & Media Competition (SYMCompetition). Organised by Media-Education Solutions (MEDUSA), it aims to get youths to use critical and researching skills to come up with insightful research papers on “Sports and the Media”. Selected research papers will be presented during our Singapore Youth & Media Conference (SYMConference) in 2010.

In Singapore’s media scene, the year of 2008 marks a new advancement in the development of sports content in the media. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the MDA and Singapore Sports Council (SSC) was signed, with SGD1 million set aside to develop the sports media industry in Singapore.

Keeping all this in mind, and anticipating the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in 2010, SYMCompetition will be a thought-provoking experience that sparks a greater interest in Sports and the Media.
