Think almost the same? Feel it depend on when u selling it, condition & model of the camera. And what the demand at that moment.
Think now price of used Canon 5Dmk2 & Nikon D700 will be dropping soon or already started to drop.

This question does not make much sense and could invite flame wars ... The drop in resell value depends on many factors, the biggest being: new sequence till the next model hits the shelf and the difference in terms of features and performance. It's valid also for comparisons between different brands. No hard formula.
Nothing to do with brands..and please dont just simply put the brands name here as it can be sensitive..
Selling it away as 2nd hand definitely the price will drop. nothing much to do with brands but alot of other factors are considered..
1) Model of cameras.. (yes model of the camera not the brand)
2) shutter count
3) Mint condition.
etc etc..
and if you are deciding to buy a DSLR with this thought on mind.. Both are the same.

Yes to TS...pls try not to use specific brand or name...you can just put it in general as like wat they say...this could incure some kinda of wrath of brudders from both camp.Nowadays technologies is really advance...maybe 6-12mths,a certain make or brand will follow up with another model.So we really cannot catch up unless u have a need for it(You are a professional or doing photography for a living)If not we will be just sitting on the fence & be contended with what we have on hand.Prices will vary also based on demand & supply too.Dun have to worry too much...just keep shooting & be happy.Cheers!

the price of all buy and selling used items are subject to demand, availability of stocks supplies, condition of the items, and many other factors..
asking questions like "Canon or Nikon" are potential source of flame wars, and the discussion will not go anywhere or getting any meaningful answers.
