Hi all,

I am willing to buy Canon 18-250 mm lens with 3 different filters.

It's 1.5 years old, rarely used (as told by Seller) and Price quoted is 500$.

Is it worthy?
Can i take it?

Nobody knows, the price seemed reasonable, but you need to test out the lens properly and thoroughly to see if there are any issues. Bring someone who knows with you if you need to. And don't get pressured to get the lens no matter what the seller is trying to pull, if you find that the lens had some problems or issues, or if you are not comfortable, just walk out of the deal. Good luck.

a quick search in the buy & sell will show many threads. Some that are below $500:

If they claim to be 1.5yrs old, have them show you the receipt. Otherwise there is no way to verify the age. Either way, you need to test the lens for sharpness, fungus etc etc.

You may be better off getting a 18-55mm and a 55-250mm with some change to spare for filters. And you have 2 lenses instead of 1. Just a suggestion.

I wrote a comparison a couple of years back about the 3 kit lenses-> http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/canon/481860-canon-18-200mm-f3-5-5-6-a-2.html#post4885448

Till date, even though even as a CPS and using mainly my FF for my commissioned work -> http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/phot...ure-weddings-events-~-2013-a.html#post8377933

The Canon 18-200IS still remain as the only EF-S I kept and used with my backup cam (7D). :)
