maybe u can try to bump up yr ISO to 400/800.

reduce yr flash strength. u shld be able to do that, check under flash control.

the washout pics are caused by the strong flash.

just a reminder, next time try not to use flash to shoot directly at cats cos their eyes are extremely sensitive to light.

Alternatively can cover the flash with a piece of tissue to get "softer" light...but the range will be lower.

Please do not use any sort of flash when shooting cats, especially head on shots.

Their retinas are very sensitive and large bursts of light will and have been proven to damage their eyes. Please care for our feline friends yeah ;)

Indeed.

There are ways to skillfully engage and capture good pictures of stray cats without the use of flash. Domesticated cats are even easier. With good equipment like the S9500, it is really easy.

If you truly love them, then stop doing them REAL harm. That includes claiming the right to litter and feed them as you wish, drawing public attention to them just so you can photograph them. These actions can lead to very rapid extinction of the poor creatures. Not that there are not enough cat-haters around. Unfortunately, there are also many foolish and arrogantly adamant people around.

So please spare them a little thought before you do them harm.

oki oki, will take note of that when taking pics of cats. hard not to use flash as when they move, they pics will blurred..
try take in daytime den.. anyway pls do not make this thread become a
SPCA thread ba.. i guess everyone knows wat to do next time is shooting cats.. :embrass: so lets carry on wif the pics~
