Nothin like the old fashion film user. I like your lighting. Creates a very nice natural feel which compliment your classical portrait shooting. The best I seen so far on CS for natural available lighting on B&W. You manage to get the best out from your subject from each of your shots taken.
I would prefer without the softness which you shot of your mom with the sewing machine. I think your photo no.2 highlight is slighty burn out on her face. Watch out for that!
Have you tried pure black and white films like Kodak Tri-X Pan, TMax 100/400? It will give you even tonal range plus better contrast compared with the Kodak TCN400. So when you scan your films, you will not need to adjust the level to high.
