Polarizer

Hi all,

I've been looking at many photos taken by both professional and hobbyist photographer. I realized that most of their photos have very vivid colours. Especially landscape shots. I try to take shots like these but still their colours turn out average.

I did a bit of research and found that using a polarizer can improve the colour contrast. My question is, what type and brand of polarizer is recommended for good landscape shots?

I use Hoya CPL for my budget.. So far so good = usable to me. There are people who will recommend B+W CPL which is good (can't confirm whether better cos i have not used one b4).. But it is way off my budget.

Got budget go for B+W. Tested Hoya and B+W at Cathay photo. No doubt B+W offers better performance but due to budget i got e hoya one. My 77mm hoya i got it for 95 at CP while the B+W costs 175 if i never rem wrongly. If budget not a concern B+W then.

sometimes it takes more than a polarizer.... post processing also plays an important part in bringing up those vivid color (like some landscapes photo you often see at fredmiranda.com)

Is Cathay offering the lowest price for B+W? Else maybe get it in Hong Kong or Japan. Going to Osaka... dunno where can I get the best price...

once again, I still standby my Marumi filter that I got off eBay... better coating than Hoya Pro1, cheaper, have front thread and very slim...

using hoya 72 mm one on my 18-200, so far so good
