Please help me decide whether to get Minolta 5D or Nikon D70s.

When I go out for a photoshoot with my kakis
and i see a good scene that will benifit from CLS
i'll have afew SB800s to do it, thanks to my kakis

Wahah this I don't have to worry I got enough SB800s :bsmilie:

at the same time when (touch wood) i run out of juice for my cam
there will be an extra battery somewhere.

That will never happen to me...

and if there is something that you need info on (like a setting or problem)
someone will know and be able to advise.

This one don't need specialised same brand users to help right.. it's general assistance/sharing ma

think about it, "the system" to me includes the shooting experience
to have fun while shooting

I prefer to see the entire system what it can do for me rather than what others can help me do... :bsmilie:

Mainly want fast AF to capture my 3 yrs old kid.
If I post in nikon forum, they will advice me to get nikon, vice versa rite?

I have 3 and 1 yr old girls running and ransacking my house everyday... This image is capture with D5D + kit lens + 5600HS(D) with 10 sec interval, waiting with the right moment.

It will be fast enough for your 3 yr old kid.

wah....KM ppl are quite nice. if a thread "pls help me choose btwn 350D and nikon" were posted in canon forum, that guy sure kena already. :bsmilie: joking la...no offence to nikonians or canonians.

but on a more seirous note, i'm using 350D, i have friends who used D70. but after seeing the D5D's ISO3200 performance, seirously, i think its better than 350D.

i would go for KM5D anytime over D70. the only drawback is unavailability of a grip. but other than that....AS, nice price....theyre good thigns to consider.

Grip issue, as again, there's an alternative, it's called KM7D. I won't say it's a drawback as the design for the KM5D was NO grip. It's not a drawback, it's just one feature less.

Picture sharpness depends on several things including shutter speed, subject movement, hand shake and your camera setting. Lens quality is less important for non-extreme enlargement. Kit lens will do the job well. You have Anti Shake and you can increase sharpness with your camera setting and even you can touch up the file later on. Now how much you want to sharpen your image without getting 'overprocessed'...

As an owner of both the D70 and the KM 5D, if you want fast AF ......... no need to consider, go for the D70s. D5D .......ahem ......:think:. OK ......the AS is fantastic.
