This workshop introduces participants to the studio environment, lighting techniques that are suitable for portraits, as well as tips and tricks to help your models to look good and pose well
Limited to a maximum of six participants per session, each participant receives focused attention from our instructors and gets a chance at setting up lights, directing model and shooting.
For Studio, learn about:
(1) Light modifiers (softbox, dish)
(2) Getting familiar with both Bowens & Hensen lights, two different brands of studio lights
(3) How to use one light efficiently & effectively - OLO One Light Only
(4) How to add more multiple lights (for the right reasons)
(5) Practical hands-on. lots of it
(6) Equipment handling and safety
For model posing and interaction
(1) How to pose models
(2) How to give instructions effectively to models to achieve better results
(3) Flaunt your models' strong features and hide their flaws
(4) Adding interesting visual elements to an other static pose.

Classroom: The Riverwalk,

Centrally located along the Singapore River, in between Clarke Quay and Boat Quay
Opposite Clarke Quay MRT station (2mins across)

Workshop schedule
1pm -2pm: Theory on Lighting Principles (classroom)
2pm - 3pm: Crash course on studio lighting (studio)
3pm - 4pm: Photography with model (studio)
4pm - 5pm: Outdoor shoot with model & lights (along Singapore River)
Model Arrangement
A model will be provided for every 3 participants.
If we have a full class of 6, two models will be provided and every photographer gets to shoot two models .
If you wish to bring your own model, you can enjoy a S$20 rebate off the sign-up fees. Your model must be willingly to be photographed by the whole class for practice purposes.
To quality for this arrangement, pls email pictures of your proposed model before 1 september.
