no contradiction there. the rights remain with the photographer, however, the organiser reserves the right to use submitted pics for purposes deem necessary.... without compensation to photographer.

this competition looks interesting... any registration fees req'd?
me only got an idiot-proof compact digicam... eligible?

type and brand of digital cameras is of no significant to the organizers.

i noticed tat the registration page has added a new catergory to check.

Category:
Open
Professional (Individuals who derive most or whole of their income from taking photographs)

so, do we have to re-register?

no need to re-register, cos u will receive this message at the bottom; "sorry, you can only enter the contest once".

oooo ic...

thx

I have registered and looking for a few teammates for the event. Anybody wants to join me?

u looking for a teammate... same here.. hahaha~~

then again.. got to receive confirmation from the organiser first rite?? :)

The organizers are not responding to the email listed :p I asked them the same question about how to submit in the specific size if our cameras don't have that resolution as an option.

Anyway any word about this photo some said we have to submit before hand?

Great, we can form a team. According to the website, we will receive confirmation email on 9 Oct. I am also going for the seminar on 9 Oct at ACS Barker Road.

I juz got an email fr Canon abt an hr ago asking which category I'm joining... & apparently, all who have registered will be considered as participants on the 16 Oct as long as we show up on time with the indemnity form... Em, so there isn't any selection or cost involved in the registration I guess?

Regarding to this, here are 2 emails I received from them:

Hi,

Then you'll need to find a camera, whose setting is close enough to 1600x1200. This recommended setting is only a guide for you. But your settings can only be sightly smaller or bigger than 1600x1200.

Rgds,
Xiaohui

You should use a camera setting that is close to this recommended setting.
If it is too small, then the resolution may not be sufficient for us to do
judging. If it is too large, download time will cause a jam for all
participants. Some variation from this setting will be accomodated.

Regards.

now im interested to know CANON 10D, 20D & 1DXX users will be using which resolution setting?

I have attended the seminar last week, the person-in-charge mentioned that they are flexible, they could help you do a simple crop after download. Not to worry about size.

BTW, I have received an email asking which category I wish to join, open or pro.....
