I don't understand it if it's using a small sensor, might as well keep it fixed lens. Unless it's very cheap, it won't take off.

Yup. At least give it a 1/1.6" sensor. That makes sense instead of using the smallest possible mainstream sensor available. I am guessing its to enable smaller zoom lenses. But thank goodness there will be an aps-c sized version. Hope that one is designed to blow the NEX/NX/Lumix one away...
