Actually floating elements is a design trick to allow for sharper close distance focusing distances in a lens.

Nikon markets this as 'CRC'.

'Floating elements' isn't even a marketing sales term, in my opinion. It refers to (usually) a group of individual glass within the lens barrel which moves individually as you turn the focusing ring.

Bah, I may have explianed it all wrong. Go google for it.

That's it?! Woah, ok. Fancy name for what appears to be taken for granted in a typical lens design huh.

Hi All,

Doing some spring cleaning in the house and discovered that I still have my K1000, still in good condition but I guess the lens and body needs some minor clean-up. Any recommendations on the place I can go and the price of cleaning it up?

Have pondering about this for a long long long time.. and I mean long time..

I know u are all in luv with your K1000 and MEs..

So am wondering if anybody would be interested to buy my Pentax MZ-S + the Vertical Grip??

Should be about 1+ yrs old. Hardly used. About 10 rolls. Still smells new .
Have been shooting digital on nikon.
