All Pentax cameras come with a photo editing software based on silkypix. So you're good to go from there.:)

use the pentax digital camera utility bundled with the CD. its good enough for basic application.

adobe lightroom might be overpriced and overkill for basic photography or newbie learner.

As mentioned by the others, you can used the software provided with the cameraa.
Else shoot DNG and you can use a free software like PICASA.

If not, you can be like me and just use JPEG and use Paint.net (and Picasa)

Whether you're a serious shooter or a newbie, you will need to adequately sort, organize and post process your images. Lightroom excels in this regard. The controls are dead easy to use to process and enhance your best images in a non-destructive manner. Sure there are free image editors out there but they without exception will alter your pixels and you'll have to re-save them later (using up disk space and adding more files). It is well worth the cost to invest in it and I recommend everyone to give it a try. Definitely not overpriced nor overkill.

Any faster way to change the AF point?

Download the LR3 Beta which will run till June 30. Once you get the hang of LR, everything else pales in comparison from a workflow and file management standpoint. I can go through my shoot, select the good photos, process them with presets/sync settings and upload them to Facebook/Zenfolio within 15 minutes!

I've tried LR's competitor, Aperture, which IMO totally cannot compare to LR.
