Pentax has few lens selections

The lens that I got is enough. But not enough for me.

The list of lens that I wanna get is FA 50 1/4 (Manly no stock,must get other place)and a zoom lens _-300 that has 2.8 & a macro lens. I actually got a Raynox DCR250 close-up lens and I did tried it(dun laugh at me if I sound sooo noob.sorry) on my 50-200mm and it managed to focus well.Havent tried it on my 18-55 though. or you guys can recommend?

You won't be able to get a f/2.8 zoom lens that goes all the way to 300mm. The longest you can get for a zoom is 70-200mm f/2.8 from Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, or FA*80-200mm from Pentax. 300mm f/2.8 lenses exist as really expensive, big and heavy prime lenses such as the FA*, F* and Sigma.

I've never tried Raynox before it seems that it works for many people, but I chose to get a dedicated macro lens (Tamron 90) instead.

My suggestion is to look at each type of lens/requirement one at a time. Do the proper research via asking here/google/pentaxforums. Don't just jump and get everything all at once, else you may find that you got the wrong stuff, or got something that is not ideal.

There are no xx-300mm f2.8 zooms AFAIK. 300/2.8 are all primes whatever the brand. They are neither cheap nor light.
There are Pentax A*, F*, FA* 300/2.8 in the used market if you want to get them.

For macro, the Raynox DCR250 has some great reviews and sample pictures. If you have already bought it, just play around with it for the time being and learn its strengths/limitations.

As for the raynox Dcr250. Its a great add-on lens. as I said I love macro. I used it with my Panasonic FZ18 with a DIY diffuser and works great. Though I'm not an expert yet.

Your Raynox shots look good. :thumbsup: Seems like whatever macro tool you can you'll be able to make good use out of it!

For the f/2.8 zoom you really got to think about how much you need it because it's still quite expensive (over S$1k) and heavy (over 1kg).. No joke!

There is actually a Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 zoom in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts only.

Just to add on to what th others have said, if size and weight might be an issue, you could even consider getting the DA*50-135 for your f2.8 zoom. I think it's just nice for events. And for your long range work you could then get something with 300mm f4, like the very good range Pentax has to offer, or the Sigma 100-300mm. A combo like this will guaranty maximum performance. But definitely not a cheap way to go though.... :sweat:

FA 50mm 1.4 test shown that at 1.4, the lens tend to soften the image. I dunno if its true or not. Only get sharper on 2.0 and above. Anyone who has the lense can give info?Thanks in advance.

Yeah, shoot with the 50-200mm you might find you don't need the fast aperture. Your wallet and arms will thank you for it.

I once had a FA50 but I mostly used it stopped down to around f/2.8 or smaller. At wide-open the performance isn't great and it's easy to misfocus due to the shallow depth of field. But then again, if you need f/1.4 it's better to have a flawed f/1.4 than none at all! And back then when I was shooting at f/1.4 it means the light level is so low that the K100D also cannot lock focus properly, so my frustration could be due to the camera as well.

I remember Creampuff sharing about the sample variation across the several copies he tested at the shops, so try to test as much as you can, especially at the much higher price these days!
