Other places to repair Olympus cameras?

Helping my colleague to check., are there alternative repair place/centres for this camera. Can’t be switched on, and he tried with other batteries already.

He was told by the service centre that they’ll assess and repair the camera but….. they will not call him after the assessment to check if he wants to continue with the repair, they’ll just do it… (probably watched too many NIKE ads…)

So if the repair comes up to $100 - $200, also got to pay…

Any suggestions?

Just went back to the service centre today, now they say they'll provide a quote before repairing....
