Pre-Photokina 2008: Olympus has chosen today to slip out a handful of new compacts, starting with the Stylus 1050SW digital compact camera, which is claimed to be shock-proof to 1.5m, water-proof to 3m and freeze-proof to -10°C. Sporting a 10.1MP sensor, 2.7” LCD and 3x (38-114mmequiv) zoom lens, it has features such as Advanced Face Detection, Shadow Adjustment, Noise Reduction and Image Stabilization. The new TAP control lets one adjust settings and review images with a tap on the shutter release button.
