A New Micro Four Thirds Digital Interchangeable Lens
LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm/F4.0 ASPH.
Featuring Ultra Wide Angle in Compact Size
Panasonic today unveiled a new interchangeable ultra wide-angle zoom lens called the LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm/F4.0 ASPH. In spite of its impressive wide-angle zoom range of 7-14mm (35mm camera equivalent; 14-28mm), the new lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight for casual on-the-go use.
Taking advantage of its wide, 114-degree angle of view, users can easily fit subjects into the frame even when shooting indoors where the distance is limited. The world looks extraordinary when viewed through the new lens, allowing photos and movies to be recorded with a uniquely rich perspective.
This high-performance lens system achieves outstanding compactness by combining 16 lens elements in 12 groups, including two aspherical lenses and four ED lenses. Image resolution is high from corner-to-corner even at the wide-angle setting. It also features F4.0 brightness over the entire zoom range thanks to its large-diameter glass molded lens elements.
When mounted on the DMC-GH1 LUMIX G Micro System Camera, the new lens allows use of the advanced contrast AF system, which includes a Face Recognition function, for more convenient, more enjoyable shooting. Seven blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings.
The LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm/F4.0 ASPH. lens also features a highly reliable metal mount, and uses multi-coated lens elements that minimize ghosts and flare to further enhance its optical performance. The optimally designed lens hood enables use even under strong sunlight.

The new LUMIX G 20 mm / F1.7 ASPH. features a dramatic compactness and light weight despite its F1.7 brightness allowing a beautiful soft focus for photos to be even more impressive.
Comprising of seven lenses in five groups, the new lens system uses two aspherical lenses most effectively to minimize both distortion and chromatic aberrations, achieving super high resolution corner to corner. The versatile 20 mm of focal distance (Equivalent to 40 mm on a 35 mm film camera) is suitable for wide variety of occasions from daily snapshots including sceneries like sunsets and dimly lit indoor shots to the deliberately creative shots taking advantage of its beautiful soft focus. Panasonic unveiled a new interchangeable lens LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH. (35 mm camera equivalent: 50 mm) for the LUMIX G Micro System. The new LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH. features outstanding brightness of F1.4 realized in the compact and light weight profile. The extraordinary brightness allows a beautiful soft focus for photo and video to be even more impressive and encourages users not to use the flash even in dimly-lit conditions. Certified with the name of world-renowned LEICA, the exceptional high image quality is guaranteed.
To the LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH., Panasonic's Nano Surface Coating technology is newly adopted. Reflection is dramatically minimized at entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) by applying the extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. It results in the super clear picture with dramatic reduction of ghost and flare.
The new lens system comprising of nine elements in seven groups uses two aspherical lenses and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive) index lens. The newly developed UHR index lens and glass mold aspherical lenses achieve uniformed description from the center to the edges.
The versatile 25 mm of focal distance (Equivalent to 50 mm on a 35 mm camera) is suitable for wide variety of occasions.
