The Nikon AFS 55-200VR is plastic lens, will it be better for trade to AFS 18-70 which is better build? Of course need to pay for the trade say $200

Any comments
Many thanks for your help

u mean plastic body rite? not plastic lens?

Yes, plastic body.
Should I change / trade for 18-70? or change/trade to plastic body 18-135?
Thanks

I did exactly that....traded the 55-220mm VR for the 18-70mm, no money involved. All through the wonderful folks here at CS.
Reason why, though one is newer and has wider focal-range, the other is older though widely acknowledged to have great IQ, thus if you see market price, they are pretty even.

It all depends on what you intend to shoot, and the kind of photography you're into.

Many thanks for your reply/Cheers

photography is not about the look of the lens. some lens are built like a tank, heavy but optically inferior, so you can't judge by looking or holding it only. you should know your need by first looking at what you normally shoot.

generally you can't go wrong with the 18-70 or 18-135 as long as the focal length is sufficient for you. both are good lenses.
