no matter whether Canon is made in Japan or Taiwan or M'sia, it doesn't matter. Look, why some of the electronic devices are made in china, like example iPhone ? That's because they can lower their price and make it affordable for everyone, unlike last time not many can even afford a Film SLR .. only those small compacts the most. I believe Canon would do their best in their QC.

FYI, Nikon Bodies are made in Thailand.

What is calibrate? Check dictionary already and I still don't really get it.
I rephrase...

"but need some time to monitor and correctly set the desired RH level using the potentiometer"

have been following the thread since the first part. and today, finally gotten 1 set of 550D with the 18-55mm IS lens option :)

Who cares if it is MIJ ot MIT or MIM...
These EF-S lens are not their top-graded L lens. My MIJ kit lens went bonkers actually. lolx

hence it a KIT Lens....lol

cos nobody will want to buy it.....(atless not for MSRP price). ;p

hi guys,

can i check if anyone of you had purchase items from the following links:

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=693740&highlight=tianya+filter

i was thinking of getting Tianya filter sets and Batt grip from there as it is a local store.

If you want to get a phottix battery grip go to ebay its much worth it. its only $10X (forgot the exact figure) for the grip and 2 batteries. If i am not wrong locally they sell it for $130 for just the grip itself.

hey all,

so right now i just got myself a 550D. with the 18-55lens. im heading for overseas soon, and am thinking of buying another longer lens w wider angle. any good recommendation?

budget at $300. :D

hi Pro-Bro's, newbie here. can give me tips on settings for portraits? I find that skin color on the "standard" setting is too red, and the "portrait" seting is "magenta" like. On the camera LCD the color looks great, but when transferred to PC then the skin becomes red-er. Even my office PC it looks a bit too red.. or maybe need to calibrate both PC now:confused:

Maybe you can try getting Spyder to calibrate your monitor ;)

Most likely its ur monitor. When in doubt transfer the pic to a device where screen settings are fixed eg ipod or handphone. Then make ur judgement. Manufacturer of monitors usually tweak their colour setting to make them look good in showroom. Result is inaccurate colour at home

To Pro-Bro's here who have calibrated PC's, can please let me know if the color is too red?

Photo is cropped a bit, no color correction done, set to "standard", 1/200, f5.6, iso 400. Auto White balance.

Lol there is no lens that fit ur requirement unless u wanna buy a telephoto lens and switch lenses during ur trip which can be quite annoying. U hv a few choices for different budget. $400+ 18-135 or 17-70 $800+ 18-200 or 15-85

even a third party up to 200mm requires $800? :) what about is there any cheaper alternative ? i shoot landscape and portraits.

since he has a 18-55, suggest he get a 55-250 instead.

sigma 18-200 are cheaper, check BnS for price. hmmm if u are specifically going there to shoot these then i suggest u get more specialised lenses like the 10-22mm and the very cheap 50mm f1.8. but if u are going on holiday then a lens with wide + longer reach is better for u

Dear Pros, regarding ITTL wirless flash trigger, will it work if my flash is NOT CANON? Will 550d-iTTLtrigger-SB600 work? or these triggers only works if both the camera and the flash are the same brand?? please enlighten. Thank you.
