Hi,

Just bought a BG-E6 grip for my 5dii from Alan Photo today. When I asked about the warranty, they told me accessories no warranty, but if anything wrong I can go to Canon Singapore.

Is this true?

I am having doubts after searching online as it should have come with a 1 yr warranty based on the websites selling the grips.

Pls advise!

realised that it may be true in singapore after reading a couple of threads about canon grips!

one of the reason i was worried was becuz i got it at a pretty good price

no doubt about the accessories warranty. mine E5 doesnt comes with it either.

Canon accessories are believed not governed by any sort of warranty.

Whereas for 3rd party grips like Phottix, I do get six-month warranty from the seller. ;)

Canon's external flash units do come with a year warranty though.

yup i get 12+3 mths for my 580exii

was confused by the guy who is trying to sell his bg-e6 for $370, as he stated unfilled warranty

just for the benefit of those who are still waiting to by the batt or the grips
5dii grip - $369 (include GST)
Batt (orginal) - $125 at AP and $120 at MS
Batt and charger (3rd party) - $70 at AP

based on the above price i recommend getting orginal batt

yea, grip doesn't comes with warranty. i already checked with canon staff at harbourfront

Again, there's no warranty for grips.

woah! Battery grip for 5Dm2 is $369?! POWER!

theres minimal electronics involved in batt grips so it has less chance of failure thats why no need for warranty.;)

Nothing to be surprised, in fact it's considered quite cheap already. When i got my 5D and grip last July, the grip is $400. The reason why it's more pricey is becos the grip's material is the same as the 5D/5D II which is magnesium alloy.

Hi icyflame, where did you get the price for the grip? When to CP quoted $450.00.
